History

   The new stage of the project was to automate creation of interior finishing project electronic documents. The idea was to give you an opportunity to generate illustrated albums with interior finishing materials, project geometry summary documents, costs sheets etc., automatically and save them in any popular file format (AutoCAD DXF; MS Office XLS), publish them to web (HTML file format). The last feature allows worldwide availability of a finishing project details and summary online.

Goals and objectives

   Interior finishing project quality control
   A part of an architectural project that describes interior finishing, often contains a lot of quantitative and qualitative information. It is very important to control its quality especially if interior finishing takes considerable part of overall project budget.

   Information completeness
   Making sure that the right item (ceiling system, floor type, door or window etc.) is used in the right place can prevent costly failures and liability issues. That is why it is very important to possess complete information about every item and every room of each project. One of the key aspects of information completeness is graphical representation of each object (finishing item, room and project). Such representation increases efficiency of primary processes during interior finishing project development and implementation.

   Freedom to select and create any representation form
   Every specialist knows that representation form strongly affects the making decision process. This idea works the same way in regard to interior finishing documents (including costs sheets, finishing materials lists, openings lists etc.). That is the reason why freedom to select and create any representation form is strongly required.
   Each person involved in interior finishing project (architect, project manager, contractor, customer etc.) needs to control different aspects of information related to interior finishing, that is why documents generated by the program, have to represent clearly any aspect for each involved person. The only way to perform quick and efficient analysis is to use unified system of data. The important feature is that such system gives you an opportunity to analyze any aspects related to interior finishing or geometry summary through all your projects or any single part of any project (one storey or room category for instance).

Results

   The result of development is a database management system that allows you to solve the following problems:
   - to automate generation of contract documentation related to interior finishing;
   - to maintain finishing materials and openings electronic illustrated catalog;
   - to analyze interior finishing project (including budgetary cost estimate);
   - to maintain electronic archive of interior finishing projects;
   - to edit and create report forms using FastReport designer (query builder included).

Application area

   The LSS idea is to create full architect-constructor work place by series of not large programs:
   - "Architect & Contractor" program for automation projects steps of internal finishing;
   - plain and inexpensive two-dimensional drafts module for drawing plans, schemes, front elevations of buildings, etc.;
   - to generate presentations apply not large inexpensive program.
So all programs will be licensed. The work place will be efficient and productive because each of modules is easy to use, can be installed on ordinary computer and all functions are required and used.

   Many users consider that architect project automation can be reached only by CAD-systems (Computer Aided Design systems). To the LSS view the efficient application area of such systems is unique large-scale objects of civil and industrial architecture (unique in planning area and engineering stages). For the mass building (individual and standard) there is an alternative to CAD-systems, i.e. this software package. An example from musical industry:
